Application
Dopamine is a precursor of norepinephrine biosynthesis. It is one of the central transmitters and has excitability β- Receptors α- Receptors and dopamine receptors stimulate the heart β- Receptors can increase myocardial contractility and cardiac output. Excitatory dopamine receptors and α- Receptor can dilate kidney, mesentery, coronary artery and cerebral vessels and increase blood flow. It has a slight contractile effect on peripheral blood vessels and increases arterial blood pressure. The prominent role of this drug is to increase renal blood flow and glomerular filtration rate, so as to increase urine volume and urinary sodium excretion. It is clinically used for various types of shock, especially for shock with weakened cardiac contractility and renal insufficiency.
