Physical and chemical properties
Chemical formula and structure: The chemical formula is C ₄ H ₈ O ₂, the molecular weight is 88.1051, and the CAS number is 110-64-5 12. The structure contains a double bond (located at carbon position 2), with hydroxyl groups located at carbon positions 1 and 4, respectively.
Physical characteristics: The appearance is a colorless or light amber oily liquid, with a density of 1.059 g/cm ³, a boiling point of 235 ℃, and a flash point of 85.38 ℃. Easy to dissolve in polar solvents such as water, alcohols, and acetone, but difficult to dissolve in benzene and halogenated hydrocarbons.
Quality indicators: Purity is generally ≥ 96.0%, impurities include alkynediol (≤ 0.2%), butanediol (≤ 1.5%), and moisture (≤ 0.5%).
Application
Chemical intermediates: used for synthesizing pesticides (such as endosulfan) and pharmaceuticals (such as vitamin B6).Polymer production: As a crosslinking agent or plasticizer for materials such as polyester resin and polyurethane, it can also be converted into 1,4-butanediol (BDO) for the production of biodegradable plastics (such as PBAT).
Solvent and additive: used as a solvent in coatings, cleaning agents, or to improve plastic flexibility.
Storage and packaging
Storage conditions: Keep away from light, insulated, and sealed in a ventilated warehouse below 35 ℃. The storage period usually does not exceed 3 months.
Commonly 200 kg/drum or as per request.
