1,4-Cineole is extracted from eucalyptus oil. 1,4-Cineole has a light and mild camphoraceous odor and a cool, mildly spice-like flavor. Colorless liquid, light and mild camphor like smell, with cool and soft spice flavor. Boiling point 109 ~ 112 ℃ (13.3kpa) or 173 ℃, flash point 47 ℃. The relative density (d420) is 0.890 chemicalbook and the refractive index (nd20) is 1.452. Almost insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol. The general commercial system consists of about 75% l,4-cineole and about 15% 1,8-cineole. Natural products exist in Piper eggplant, chamomile, etc
